A few points for anyone having problems with finding servers and/or connecting to servers -

1. Don't wait on the server search to finish. It won't finish. Hit "Cancel" after it has searched for a few seconds, wait a sec, and the server list should pop up.

2. The only way to add a server to your Favorites list is to play on the server and have it go to your History tab. Once it's on History, you can then add it from History to Favorites.

3. You must manually update your Punkbuster. All sorts of connection issues have been happening to people because of a bug in the PB that came with the game. Search for a manual PB update, point it to your BC2 folder under the Steam folder, and let it run. This should clear up the "can't connect" problem.

My server search takes a while but it does finish... I'll try that though, would save time. As for the PB thing, I only had issues that one day when everyone was having problems, besides that no PB issues... though I also didn't participate in the beta (installed, didn't play).

I want to level up a class other than Medic since I have that maxed out but so far whenever I jump into games there is never a medic around worth a damn. Well, mostly, there are some that do a good job but most use it as an assault class and spray from a distance.

Recon also is something I do want to level up but right now there is WAY WAY WAAAAY to many recon class ingame for me to even begin to consider playing as one.

They need to fix the squad system, BF2 I could open a tactical map and place rally points and objectives... this is just me hearing a guy speak russian the command and everyone ignoring it. ONCE did 1 other person from my squad defend an objective like I asked, though they may have been just there because they wanted to be... I know it happened because I got +10 points a second for them being their during a firefight. With you guys we do ok but we communicate, otherwise people seem to be dumb mutes bent on great KD ratios.

I want to try Recon just to get that damned mortar strike... jeez... don't know how many times I've died by that.

I'm slowly getting better at Medic. Slowly.

"The Battlefield Blog has a follow-up on the promised server fixes for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which are now in place, saying: "After optimizations and restarts yesterday, we had been stable across all platforms," until they had an outage across all three platforms. Things are up and running again, and they describe their efforts at tracking down what happened like this: "All teams are actively engaged in diagnosis and remediation. We are adding additional services to alleviate load. Despite having a major infrastructure in place, the peak traffic this weekend has been huge, 400% higher than any other Battlefield's peak simultaneous users. The teams will continue to monitor the services closely. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will provide further updates on the latest developments as they are relevant."

I saw that yesterday on their blog, that's pretty crazy with the concurrent users... though it probably includes the consoles as well. I didn't get to play at all last night, was stuck at work until 5AM with a code deploy. Tonight though, I kill.

I bought the game. My in game name is Owo Jr. and I'm using the tag <BMW>. I'll try and hop on the Ace or Ars server when I have time. I'm hoping to focus on medic like the good ol' days of Wolfenstein ET, but if we already have enough then I'll stick to assault.

Well, could be a lot of things... whats your setup? CPU, VID, OS...

Also, did you try dropping the graphics, maybe try changing from DX11 or DX10 to DX9... there is an INI someplace that you can change this, by default it is set to auto detect. Also driver updates, there is a nVidia driver that is no good and was killing cards but they pulled it.

Ace is getting another server as well, the only thing about the Ars server is they will kick you to make room for their clan members if there isn't enough room and they also run that server on hardcore mode. HC mode is basically no crosshair so you gotta use ironsights/scope, also you don't have a minimap and can't see your ammo count... as well enemys die with only 1 or 2 shots. A trick I found is if you need to see the minimap, hit tab to view the scores and it will show the minimap, you can then see if anyone around you needs rezzing or which way to go.

I've unlocked all of the specializations, and up to the M60, on Medic and I'm working on Assault at the same time (next unlock is the barrel stabilization for Assault).

I'll send ya friend request if you hadn't already sent them out. By the way, for those who aren't aware, the Friend Request (for requests you've received) box is on the main screen after you've logged into the EA servers. It's on the right side of the screen, above your rank. It'll show your friend requests, and you just click the arrow on the line of the request.

I hope this isn't true, but I've seen a few people say the friends list actually cleared, which means you gotta add everyone again.

On a lighter note, I may start working on recon, but use the SPAS-12 instead of a sniper rifle. I just unlocked it with rank 18 I believe, I can't snipe worth shit but I can definately throw the sensor things and mordors (yes, I throw evil empires when I finally unlock it).

I have engie, medic and vehicles completed, only assault and sniper are left then I have nothing else left to unlock.
